WDF World Cup Ladies Pairs 1983

The British dominated the World Cup IV, which was held in Edinburgh, Scotland from October 21 to 22. At the general meeting of the WDF Peter McMenamin from Australia was elected as the new president. He replaced Bill Turner from New Zealand. For the first time there was also a World Cup for women in 1983.

In the women's event 19 countries were present. Two ladies who played in a singles and pairs event, where points were awarded to each event, represented each country.

In the pairs event the English ladies Audrie Durham and Maureen Flowers, the girlfriend of Eric Bristow, won the first World Cup title in the women. In a thrilling finale, they just beat the Canadian pair Rani Gill and Stacy Walker 4- . Scotland (Cathie Gibson and Lynn McKay) and New Zealand (Lillian Bird and Jill Macdonald) took the bronze.
