WDF Europe Cup Ladies Singles 1998

From August 6 to 9, 1998 26 countries participated in Oslo, Norway for the Europe Cup Darts XI. For many countries it is a distant and expensive trip to Oslo for the ninth edition of the Women’s European Cup. Still a record number of 21 women's teams toe the oche. Big absentee is Belgium with top players Vicky Plum and Sandra Pollet. Just like in 1994, they must remain absent for financial reasons.

In the singles event, both English ladies reached the semi-finals. Trina Gulliver lost 4-3 to Northern Ireland's Denise Cassidy. In the other semi-final Mandy Solomons won in a very strong match against Norwegian Mette Hansen 4-2.

The final was a nail-biter, which was won 4-3 by Denise Cassidy, who claimed Northern Ireland’s first-ever European Cup title.
