Edition six of the World Series of Darts Finals was played in the Salzburg Arena in Austria from the 18th till the 20th of September. For the first time a woman took part in this tournament; The Queen of the Palace Fallon Sherrock lost her first-round match after being 5-1 up with 5-6. Also, for the first time since COVID-19, some spectators were allowed to attend. In the final they saw Price fighting back from a 4-8 deficit against Rob Cross. In the end, Price won the match beating Cross with 11-9. Price is the third winner of this tournament after Michael van Gerwen and James Wade. Van Gerwen has won this tournament four times.

‘The Iceman’ played a strong tournament and won his first match easily with 6-3 against Vincent van der Voort. In the quarterfinals against Nathan Aspinall, the Welshman had a much harder time. Price was 7-4 behind and he had to fight back, he even survived a matchdart, but still managed to take the win. After that, ‘Snakebite’ Peter Wright was his opponent in the semi-finals. After a difficult start, both men turned the match into a true spectacle. The Scot had an average of over 108, but it was not enough to stop Price.

Cross also didn’t have that much trouble to reach the second round. Without too much effort he managed to beat Steve Beaton. ‘The Bronzed Adonis’ had a real offday averaging only 76 and was sent home with a whitewash. In the quarterfinals Michael Smith awaited. ‘Bully Boy’ stayed close to Cross but helped by multiple high finishes, it was ‘Voltage’ who reached the semi-finals winning 10-8. In the semi-final ‘The Machine’ James Wade was waiting. In a generally below-average game it was Cross who won it 11-7. The highlight of the match was a 170-finish from James Wade, who set a record. The Englishman is the first player ever to hit the highest possible checkout twice in one day during the World Series of Darts Finals.
