The fourth edition of the World Series Finals was played in Vienna from 2 to 4 November. After three titles in a row for Michael van Gerwen, James Wade is the second winner of this tournament. In an exciting final, Wade defeated Michael Smith with 11-10.

Wade reached the final through victories over Ross Smith, Mensur Suljovic, Jamie Lewis and Raymond van Barneveld. The same Van Barneveld defeated title defender Michael van Gerwen in the quarterfinals. Opponent Smith beats Kyle Anderson, Dave Chisnall en Gerwyn Price in his road to the final.

In the final, Wade took a 3-0 lead, but Smith returned into the match via a 140-finish. 'Bullyboy' fought back to 5-5 and produced a 170-finish to pull the final to 7-7. Wade got the first matchdarts on 10-9, but Smith managed to force a deciding leg. In the deciding leg, Smith missed five matchdarts, after which Wade wins his second major title in a short time via double 18.
