On 6 and 7 December the ladies played in the Paragon Hotel in London for the World Masters title. Defending champion Sharon Colclough got no further than the semi-finals, where she lost to the eventual winner Sharon Douglas.

Sharon Douglas from Scotland playes the tournament of her life, it will remain to be her only major title. In the final Douglas beats Germany’s Heike Ernst 3-1. For the first time we meet a familiar name at the semi-final stage of the World Masters; Trina Gulliver. Heike Ernst defeats Gulliver this year in the semi-finals, but The Golden Girl will often be back and winning, also in this tournament.
