High finish

In his impressive career Phil Taylor has never been without the World Grand Prix Cup for more than one year. In 2013 he ensures again that the cup that was just taken from him last year goes back to Stoke-on-Trent. In the first round, Jamie Caven stays close to The Power and is level after one set, but Taylor still wins. One round later Nicholson definitely gets chances to pick up a results but doesn’t take them. From the quarterfinals onwards  the No. 1 in the world is never in doubt about reclaiming the title.

Gary Anderson , James Wade and Dave Chisnall jointly win one set. Taylor averages around 100 in all of these matches. For Chisnall it is his first major PDC final, en route to the final he beats defending champion Michael van Gerwen in the quarterfinals in a fantastic game. All eight seeded players get through the first round in Dublin and that is unique. Both Gary Anderson and Michael van Gerwen average over 104 in that first round and that is incredibly high in this system where doubles have to be hit at the start of a leg and and the end.
