In 2003 Trina Gulliver added the World Darts Trophy to her impressive record. The English world champion defeated her all-time rival Francis Hoenselaar 3-1 in the final. In the semi-final she took revenge on Anne Kirk, who defeated her the year before.
The 2002 winner, Mieke de Boer reached the semi-finals but lost 2-0 to Hoenselaar. Hoenselaar beat the other Dutch contestant, Karin Krappen, in the quarterfinal.
