From 22 to 24 June, the first edition of the Danish Darts Open took place in the Brøndby Hallen just outside Copenhagen. It is a surprising tournament where many of the pre-tournament favourites prematurely leave the tournament and where ultimately Mensur Suljovic turns out to be the strongest.

Suljovic successfully beats Ryan Joyce, Darren Webster, Peter Wright and Adrian Lewis on his way to the final. In the final Simon Whitlock is his opponent. The Australian beats Jermaine Wattimena, Ricky Evans, Mervyn King and Steve West in Copenhagen. In the final, Suljovic quickly goes a break in front and he does not give that away anymore. Especially the finishing of the Austrian is excellent and that gives him an 8-3 win and the Danish Open Darts title.

It is for Mensur Suljovic his second EuroTour win after the International Open of 2016. Whitlock remains on one title; the Dutch Darts Masters in 2012. It was the first final on the EuroTour for The Wizard since the European Darts Open of 2014. During this Danish Darts Open the milestone of 3,000 EuroTour matches was also passed.
