he fourth edition of the Champions League of Darts was held in the Morningside Arena in Leicester on 19 and 20 October 2019. Michael van Gerwen won the tournament after a great final, which he won with 11-10 against Scotsman Peter Wright.

The number one of the world won his group. Due to victories over James Wade (10-8), Michael Smith (10-6) and Gary Anderson (10-4). Michael Smith followed Van Gerwen into the semi-finals as the number two from the group. In the other group Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price qualified for the semi-finals.

The first semi-final was between Peter Wright and Michael Smith. The Scotsman started very well and took a big lead en never let Smith in after that. The second semi-final between MVG and Gerwyn Price went to a deciding leg. Michael van Gerwen won this leg and progressed to the final. He did this with the highest tournament average: 105.54.

In a spectacular final it was Mighty Mike who won it. Peter Wright was 10-7 up and just needed one more leg. Snakebite missed three match darts and after that MvG switched to a higher gear and won the last four legs on the trot. It was the first time Michael van Gerwen won the Champions League of Darts. With this win Van Gerwen has now won every PDC major at least once. Michael Smith had a 170 check out in the group stage.
