Huw Ware

Huw Ware has risen to the top quickly. He began his career in 2010 and in 2012 was already on the biggest stage of them all in the Lakeside Country Club at the BDO World Championship. From youth competitions in Glamorgan to the World Championship can therefore be achieved in short time. With his 18 years he is the youngest referee at a World Championship ever.

He is active with that organization until the BDO World Championship of 2016, but in March of the same year he is also on stage two at the UK Open of the PDC. Since then, he has worked as the fifth referee for the PDC. Over the years Huw has become a more familiar face on the big PDC stages. This becomes more and more common from 2019 onwards and when Paul Hinks hangs up his PDC microphone, Huw Ware is his natural replacement.

Since 2018, Huw has also been the ambassador for the LGBTI community within the darts sport. In February 2014, Ware himself told in a blog about his sexual orientation and the difficult road he had to take with his homosexuality.

First World Championship in 2012.
